About this blog:
Hi,
I'm Pat Chandler of Lucky Charm Farm and actually, I try not to be a Diva of any sort or kind. But let's face it, us Dressagistas do kind of have that rep, so perhaps we should embrace it? Or perhaps even better, why not redefine it? That is more my goal. Because any Dressage Diva worth her salt knows that the road to excellence is long and arduous, strewn with many an obstacle (and abscess) along the way. I know I struggle daily; in my training of the horses, in finding the balance in my home life and then of course, finding a way to afford it all. So that will be the core of my blog; to share my struggles, my "ahah" moments and of course any cool solutions I come across along the way. So...
About Me: I'm 50 years old and horse poor. I own 6 horses and have 3 boarders on my 40 acre farm in the heart of Maryland's Eastern shore. I also have 2 goats, 5 cats (2 outside and 3 inside) and 2 dogs. I'm currently training my two competition horses: Willow, a 7 yr. old 16 hd. Dutch warmblood mare and Uno, a 9 yr. old 18 hd. Dutch Warmblood gelding both of which are schooling 2nd/3rd level. I've been instructing and training Dressage for about 17 years now and am always amazed at how much more I myself have to learn. My husband is that wonderous rarity, an honest-to-God horse hubby. In fact we actually met at a stable. So we share the onus of responsibilities and labor intensive chores together. Basically, we have too many animals and too little time but neither my husband nor I would trade it for the world....
